Hi Friends! Today I’m coming off my self-imposed blogging hiatus by sharing a day in my life with the Simple Woman’s Daybook.
Outside my window the sun is shining, the snow is melting, and I want to kiss someone it’s so glorious.  Come on, Spring!
"It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it's summer in the light, and winter in the shade." Charles Dickens, Great Expectations

I am thinking I should write more, especially in this hard season of heartbreaks and changes.  Since we got word that our housing is in jeopardy,  I’ve pulled into myself this past week.  Friends, I’m sorry.  I’ve been pondering lots of posts for you…so for that…
I am thankful.
In the kitchen, I’ve got a pot roast in the crock pot, the dishes are all put-away, and I’ve conquered a pile of laundry. Go ‘sheta!  Go ‘sheta!  Go, Go, Go, ‘sheta!
I am wearing my new favorite jeans, a gray sweater I got off of FreeCycle last weekend, with my red and silver infinity scarf from The Open Arms Shop.
I am creating a better rhythm of rest. For example, last Thursday on my day off. Once a week, my husband takes care of the kids for me. Initially he offered it to me as a Sabbath. For my husband, Sabbath looks like going off to the library and reading all day.  For me, Sabbath has turned into shopping trips, errands, or days to write.  But since our car, job, and house drama all converged at the same time, I haven’t been sleeping well. So, Thursday morning, instead of getting some writing done or completing my errand list, I took a long walk to pray, then when I came home, I put back on my punjammies and spent the day in bed.  The hubs dealt with my kids’ misguided attempt cook goldfish in the microwave (I know cray-cray, right?) and the only time I came down was to have dinner with the famiy.  I realized that sometimes when we Sabbath we actually need to rest, not spend the day running errands, not trying to meet deadlines, not living up to everyone’s expectations—just resting in the knowledge that you belong to God and to him—you are enough.
I am going to finish making these cute Moroccan candles to remind me of our anniversary get-away and send as a thank you gift to Elizabeth, the wonderful owner of our anniversary getaway suite.

I am wondering who is “the girl I once was” and what does she want me to write for Wednesday before the Story Session’s link-up closes.
I am reading, “Bittersweet” by Shauna Niequist and I have lots of thoughts on change, grace, and learning the hard way.
I am hoping for God to provide us a new home in Roxbury so we can be closer and build community.
I am looking forward to bedtime…did I mention how wonderfully comfy these punjammies are?

I am learning to no longer dance to the cadence of fear but faith like the Hebrews boys facing the fiery furnace.  (pssst…post on this coming soon…hopefully tomorrow.)
Around the house, it smells wonderful (yummy dinner not withstanding).  I’m using a new plug-in called, “Lift Off” by Glade. It’s white tea and magnolia.  I’m seriously thinking about buying a few more packs on Amazon.

I am pondering what does it mean to let go of shame.  Brandy’s “Be” ecourse for Lent is so challenging.  I’ve been meditating on Galatians 5:1
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
I’ve been asking myself: What would my life look like if I no longer burdened myself with the slavery of unrealistic or unhelpful expectations? what would freedom look like for me?
A favorite quote for today:
I am not afraid of the storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.

One of my favorite things to do is dance around to Pharrell’s.  “Happy” with my kids.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Write tomorrow at Bourbon
Go on a date with TC—I don’t care where, I just need to get dressed up and talk about something other than our car, housing, church plant, or the kids.
Navigate an “early release day” tomorrow, maybe we’ll bake something, maybe we’ll see a movie, maybe we’ll play some board games….whatever we choose, I’ll definitely need to be prayed up tomorrow morning.  I’m not a nice mom on early release days.
A peek into my day would find me curled on the couch wrapped up in my red chenille blanket eating a bowl of soup for lunch and watching, “Gilmore Girls”.  (Rory and Logan 4EVA!)
