I’m linking up with Leigh Kramer’s “What I’m Into” today.
One thing you should know about me is I’m very into my Facebook app. I use it every day, sometimes twice a day, and I record everything I love on my wall. From my kiddos craziest antics to my amazing online deals, if I love it—it’s going on my wall. So for my “What I’m into” I’m going to show a snapshot of my favorite FB statuses and share the stories behind them. Some of them will be purely for the entertainment value, some will have an insight or resource to encourage you, if you say… have a tween who loses his mind and cops an attitude over doing his summer reading. Which leads us to the first FB “into” (you might need to click the image to read the statuses).
Then after an hour in his room, I posted this:
Which leads me a verse I’m definitely into this month:
Galatians 6:9
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
I was quoting this during Tyson’s tween tantrum, but it’s been encouraging to me all month long. Because as you all know, I’m weary from being a good summer mama. But, this Scripture has reassured me that all this effort will, at some point, reap a harvest.
I’m totally into BK’s $ .50 cones
Living in Boston, I’ve learned to keep a healthy supply of quarters in my purse. Perfect for feeding meters and feeding children! And the one closest one to me has a drive thru! I took this picture while we were out back to school shoe shopping.
I’m into our church plant launch team and our discussion of “Mere Discipleship” by Lee Camp.
My favorite discussion from the book by far has to be on the gospel. We had some great discussions around “what is the gospel” and how to share the gospel with others. I’m so thankful for a team that wants to share the gospel through the lens of shalom. The gospel is Jesus’ Story of why and how he came to bring wholeness and harmony to all people. If you’re interested in some good Anabaptist theology…grab this book.
I’m into my annual back to school Autumn purge.
I’m like a bear— but in reverse. Instead of searching out food to store for the winter’s hibernation, I get rid of everything. EVERYTHING! And I try to make my house pretty for our long New England Winter. Which for you DIY loving readers, you’ll be interested to know in Sept. I’ll be posting some projects I pulled from Pinterest for my house. Maybe you’ll be inspired or tickled by my antics. Either way, I hope you’ll join me for those posts. I’m an enthusiastic, yet hopeless DIYer. So far we’ve purged my living room, the kids’ room, and my closet. The kitchen is next! Maybe I’ll finally find my heart shaped baking pan. And once it’s purged, I’ll put up this beauty I found on Living Social:
Click this link for the deal and full disclosure: if three of y’all get this deal…I get mine for FREE!
I read and loved, “Unglued” by Lysa TerKeurst. Here’s my favorite quote:
If you like what you read here, follow my page on FB.
Other than FB awesomeness.
I’m listening to Renovatus Church’s worship albums. So good! Edgy and inspiring.
I’m rooting for any one the final four on So You Think You Can Dance. They are all so amazing! Check out this top 6 group dance to, Soweto Gospel Choir’s Hlohonolofatsa. It’s so beautiful that I cried. I’ve been waiting for them to do an African routine and they didn’t let me down. I so wanted to buy Alvin Ailey tickets after watching this performance.

I
want to go “glamping”, a la Tim Gunn style from Project Runway and I adore the love letter to his partner dress from Jeremy:
Can you imagine your favorite poem or Bible passage? Oh my goodness! Swoon!
I’m contemplating buying Converse. I can’t justify the purchase when I have Coach tennis shoes I bought a couple of years ago from a thrift shop that look similar. So pray for me, y’all!
I’m listening “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” on my Audible app because I want to see the movie next month and I’m a bit neurotic about books that become movies. I must read the book before seeing the movie —even if I had no interest prior to it getting a movie deal. I refuse see the movie before I read the book. I think, the cinema magic ruins the reading experience for me. I know.. I know…call me a neurotic book snob.
Well loves, I must make my way to Target and get some more laundry detergent. Tonight I plan on tackling the clothes mountain lined up in my living room before the kids go back on Tuesd
ay.
So here’s one more FB post to tickle your funny bone and bless you with grace if you’ve been avoiding your laundry pile as well:
Happy long weekend and Shalom,
