My name is Osheta. It's pronounced, "O-she-da" and so many people have asked if it means something. It doesn't. My dad just made it up.
But if I were to go to Urban Dictionary and create a definition for my name it might say something like this:
An ENFJ mama who loves parties, people, and popcorn with red wine. A pastor's wife who is convinced God has a sense of humor. A Peacemaker who loves Jesus a lot and cusses... a little. An optimistic cookbook reader. A hopeless romantic. A goofball with a little bit of sass.

6 days agoby oshetamI would like to beg you...as well as I can, to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don't search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. 3 days agoby oshetamYesterday, T.C. and I had an argument. It’s one we have at least three times a year. Right before the kids go back to school when I’m feeling all eager and over-confident that with the kids back in class I can do ALL THE THINGS. Or right after the New Year when shame and #goaldigging traps me into thinking I’m not doing enough to be my best self… live my best life… all that jazz. And the doozy that brings on this argument is whenever we have an unexpected expense that threatens our stability. In every instance, I say, “I’ma…
5 days agoby oshetamOn Saturdays, I want to highlight my favorite peacemakers. Do you know Monica Brasov-Curca? You should. She's the founder of Activate Labs, founder and co-director of the #RefugeesWelcome Guidebook and the leader of the #beautifulresistance . Following her on Instagram, I've grown in my faith with her Sunday morning coffee cup sermon notes, I went to Mexico with her to follow a peacemaking seminar she led, and I've been inspired to integrate peacemaking with motherhood. I've also laughed. A lot. She's one of my favorite leaders and I'm honored to call her friend. Follow Monica at @monicacurcapax photo credit @cora4jc#saturdayshalom …
